Secondments
As a result of the international scope of our practice, much of the work we do in all our offices is international by nature.
All offices co-operate closely with one another to make sure our clients receive a seamless cross-border service. It’s common to work on a transaction or case in which at least one of the parties is based outside the UK, if not all of them. We therefore work to their time zones and in their languages, as well as our own.
This offers plenty of opportunity for trainees, who can apply to spend a seat in one of our international offices in locations such as Brussels, Dubai, Hong Kong, Moscow, Paris, Singapore and Toyko.
You'll be there to work, but you’ll also have the chance to experience the country and its culture. Many of those who wish to will spend six months in their first choice destination. Our qualified lawyers have opportunities for even longer overseas secondments.
You could also be seconded to one of our clients. These clients are based in the UK but it’s likely you’ll have the chance to travel on client matters during your training contract.
Client secondment opportunities can include:
- BAT
- BSkyB
- Credit Suisse
- Liberty
- Marsh & McLennan
- The High Court
- TUI Travel
