Trainee development centres

We think it’s important that you receive as much dedicated and concentrated support as possible during your training contract. One of the ways that we do this is through our trainee development centre.

You will participate in this programme during your second seat. This two day workshop involving a range of activities, designed to support and reinforce the trainee competency framework, which highlights individual strengths and development areas.

It will help you to understand to what extent your personal behaviours match the trainee competency framework. It also provides a deeper understanding of the skills you will need for a smooth transition from trainee to associate. The development centre also helps you reflect on how to take more responsibility to develop your own career and personal reputation within Herbert Smith.

Observation and feedback from your peers and internal coaches will help you put together a personal development plan to take away and implement back in the workplace.
