“I started my training contract in the insolvency group. Later, I moved to competition, where I developed an expertise in electricity regulation and realised the importance of understanding competition law when advising on regulatory matters. That led me to specialist areas such as state aid and procurement law. While it’s good to specialise, it’s also important to have a number of strings to your bow. I’ve been well supported in my chosen career path but essentially it’s been a route of my own choosing”
Tim Briggs, of counsel
