Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL)
To enter into a two-year trainee solicitor contract with Herbert Smith Hong Kong office, you need to complete the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) in Hong Kong. The PCLL providers include the Chinese University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong.
The PCLL was established to provide the necessary professional qualification for graduates in one of the three universities awarding LLB and/or JD degree in Hong Kong or non-law graduates who have passed the Graduate Diploma of Law (GDL) or the Common Professional Examination (CPE).
Applicants for the PCLL must comply with the new entry requirements published by the standing Committee on legal Education and Training in Hong Kong. Graduates without a Hong Kong LLB and/or JD degree will need to pass the PCLL Conversion Examinations.
Information regarding the conversion requirements for PCLL entry will be updated regularly and are available on the PCLL Conversion Examination Broad website: www.pces.com.hk.
As a future joiner, we will provide you with the following bursary:
- examination fees for PCLL conversion exam for overseas law students
