Training and development - London

The initial period of your training contract will include an induction programme which aims to assist with the transition to "life as a trainee" through a number of presentations, workshops and training sessions.

You will receive:

  • an introduction to the firm
  • an introduction to litigation and regulation
  • an introduction to corporate/corporate finance and legal resources
  • an introduction to risk management
  • an introduction to business development
  • finance skills training
  • Westlaw and research skills workshops
  • an introduction to Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • High Court visit
  • IT training

During each of your seats you will be working alongside partners and associates. They will provide work and supervision, encourage you to take the initiative and give you as much responsibility as is reasonable.

We'll help you to evaluate your strengths and areas of development, likes and dislikes – both informally and through formal reviews with your supervisors.

In addition to on-the-job training we offer a range of formal training sessions and workshops, most of which are part of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme that is accredited by the Hong Kong Law Society.  These courses are designed to provide you with the practical legal skills and knowledge to become a first rate lawyer.
